Creating December 23, 2014

December 23, 2014The New banner for the first book in the Emperor Series, The Empeor's Heir is now shown on Twitter and Facebook. The response is humbling. More art work to do, and I'm looking forward to the challenge. (Apreciate all suggestions given) SD

Creating December 23, 2014

December 23, 2014Update of the makings of the covers for the first book in The World of the Twin Hearts, under the Emperor's Series; The Emperor's Heir. Work is moving along quickly now and everything is starting to take shape. I'm still not feeling the snow vibe, but it still can be removed. I'm also not too happy with the look of my name at the bottom right. The placement is corrent, but it's just not quite there. As allways, your thoughts are welcomed. Comment below or by other social media if you wish. SD

Writing December 21, 2014

December 21, 2014I've dusted off an old class assignment I'd written for a course in Creative Writing and have decided to publish it on the SD Tracy Harper Blog. It's a charming little Christmas story called The Plan. It is a semi-autobiographical account of one of my childhood Christmas. I'm releasing it on line December 24, 2014 in place of the usual Ask SD.

December 20, 2014First look of the makings of the covers for the first book in The World of the Twin Hearts, under the Emperor's Series; The Emperor's Heir. Work is coming along nicely now that all Photoshop parts are done. Yes, that is snow, but it may be removed. It's too early in the process to ask you what your thoughts are, but you can comment if you wish. SD

Writing December 19, 2014

December 19, 2014I've just joined another social media outlet/ Likes.com {http://stevenharper.likes.com/}. Need to see if I can change that to sdtracyharper. This is what i had posted:
"I'm just an independent author. Not looking for a hookup, so do a frozen and "Let it Go!" Working hard to help other writers and give back to those authors who are at fault for giving me the writing bug."
Not the most poetic thing I've ever written, but it will do. If you are on Likes.com, friend me and I'll friend you back. SD

Reading December 17, 2014

December 17, 2014Chainfire is done! I would reather not say much about this new installment in fear of SPOILERS! It was an interesting read and should do quite well. I did enjoy reading about the characters I had enjoyed in past books. I'm hoping the next book "Phantom".
Thanks everyone about my Robin Hobbs dilemma and will think about going back to read the complet series. Once again, I thank each and every person who had commented. However, I've been looking forward to L.E. Modesitt Jr.'s Natural Ordermage.

Reading December 16, 2014

December 16, 2014 – I’m at the last few chapters of Terry Goodkind’s Chainfire. I’m somewhat disappointed at the reintroduction of old characters (I haven’t read his work for quite some time) and his newest villain (No Spoilers Here). Hopefully the next book will pick up speed and draw me back in. unfortunately, that will have to wait because I have quite a few favorite authors who books have stacked up on me. Next up is Natural Ordermage, part of the Saga of Recluse series by L.E. Modesitt Jr. Oh, but what is killing me is that I had jumped passed a complete three book installment from another author.

I’m now wondering if I catch up on my other others first, I should not have too much trouble following with the author wanted to lead me. I had completely jumped passed The Tawny Man Trilogy by Robin Hobb, and didn’t realize it after I had read Fool’s Assassin, the first book in The Fitz and the Fool Trilogy. If something like this had ever happened to you, let me know what did you do? SD

Writing December 16, 2014

December 16, 2014I’m doing a final on my Ask SD Tracy Harper. Luckily, I haven’t received a bump question this week. bump questions are questions from anyone that are so interesting, I can’t help but to publish my answer before other asked questions. Hopefully, I’m still in the process of file consolidation, and plugging up basic story holes on some novellas. Can’t wait to see what comes back from my editors. SD

Creating December 14, 2014

December 14, 2014 – I’ve received comments from some of my readers and advisors that they weren’t all too thrilled with the look of the A Funny Thing Happened novellas book covers. They spoke, I listened, and you can tell me what you think is the best? The original style or simple. here’s the first set. Stop by http://afunnythingshappened.blogspot.com/ and let me know?

Writing December 14, 2014

December 14, 2014 – I’ve been working hard today on corrections on three stories (easier to keep focused when you are familiar with what you are writing), updates as per some of my readers to get better clarification on story lines, and working on different character names (very important). I’m now thinking about changing this Friday’s Reasons and Reality article from what I had scheduled to “The Importance of a Name” or “By Any Other Name. I’ve recently found a helpful website that generates names and I think it would be nice to share. Don’t know as of yet, but you can check out Reasons and Reality at http://sdtracyharper.blogspot.com/ SD

December 13, 2014
Currently I’m nearly finished with Chainfire by Terry Goodkind. I have been a fan of his for years and was sorely disappointed about the TV show based on his Sword or Truth series. It wasn’t the fact that the show wasn’t warmly received, or was publicized adequately, but it was cancelled for three reasons. One it barely gave the same ominous feel as did the books, it presented before the time was right for such a show, and due to the channel it was being shown on, the censors had a field day butchering a story of this kind. Anyone who had read Temple of the Winds or Blood of the Fold know what I’m talking about. Although the book started out slow, I’m enjoying the ride. Stop by my Pintrest spot and enjoy my Legend of the Seeker board. SD

December 13, 2014 Today is 12,13,14 if you haven’t noticed. Right now I’m writing scripts for the “What Am I” doing. it’s a new blog so I can keep everyone informed with what is going on. hopefully it will slow down the questions pertaining to me and focus them more on you. I’m looking for more Ask SD questions. If you have something on your mind you would like to ask, I’m listening. SD
